Sourcing Vietnamese clothing suppliers on Alibaba.com
There are a few local supplier directories in Vietnam, but I find it way easier to source Vietnamese textiles factories on Alibaba.com or Globalsources.com.
Alibaba.com allows you to search for suppliers based on the country. Thus, you can limit your search to only suppliers from Vietnam.
For example, the keyword ‘T-Shirt’ provides a list of more than 2200 suppliers on Alibaba.com, most of which are based in China. However, if we limit our search to Vietnam, we get a list of 292 t-shirt suppliers. That’s a decent number of suppliers to work with.
Globalsources.com also has a ‘search by country’ function, but the number of Vietnamese textiles manufacturers is much lower compared to Alibaba.com.

Vietnam Int’l Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition
The 18th edition of the Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition is Scheduled in November in Ho Chi Minh City. The products you can find at this event include textile machinery, apparel machinery, fibers, filaments, fabrics, and other apparel accessories.
You can find manufacturers of braiding machines, winding machines, thread trimmer machines, and other producers of modern textile and apparel machinery here. The fair is more suited for you if you’re looking to buy textile and apparel machinery.
Vietnam allows citizens of 24 countries to visit the country without a visa, which includes countries like Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, the UK, and a few other European countries.
The exhibition is organized twice a year, every April and November.

Can I buy from apparel and home textile wholesalers in Vietnam?
Wholesalers tend to offer lower MOQs. This is appealing to small buyers, looking to purchase less than 300 pcs in total.
While there are textiles wholesalers, and wholesale markets, in Vietnam – you need to be aware of labeling issues.
Wholesale textiles are generally not compliant with EU, US or other labeling requirements.
For example, textiles imported and sold in the US must have the following information:
- Country of Origin Label (Made in Vietnam)
- Fiber Composition (i.e., 100% Cotton)
- ASTM Care Labels (or instructions)
It’s extremely rare that ‘ready-made’ wholesale apparel in Vietnam is made specifically to comply with American clothing labeling requirements.
Hence, you need to make sure the goods are re-labeled before shipment.
This also applies to importers in the EU, Canada, and Australia.
