Semi-permanent makeup is considered micropigmentation, similar to tattoos. It involves using a needle to place pigmented granules beneath the upper layers of the skin. Tattooing and medical restoration, which corrects imperfections from scars and vitiligo (lack of natural pigmentation in the skin), are similar procedures.

Eyebrow blading – Semi-permanent make-up tattooing in Vietnam

Microblading, eyebrow blading and eyebrow embroidery all are forms of semi-permanent make-up. However microblading 3D is the latest and most precise technique. An eyebrow artist uses a special hand tool to insert tiny amounts of pigment just under the skin. With small, feather like strokes the brows are perfectly shaped and darkened, while keeping a natural look.

Why do people do it?

Eyebrows have a big impact on how you look; they balance your features and highlight your eyes. Unfortunately, very few people are born with perfect eyebrows.

Eyebrow microblading is a beauty treatment that creates the perfect fullness and shape of the brows. And it has a long lasting effect: no need to draw your eyebrows anymore and no risk of smudged makeup. Imagine how much time you save every day!

A small amount of people choose microblading because of a medical condition.

Where does it come from?

Archaeologists have found evidence that microblading is more than 5000 years old. But the beauty treatment as we know it today, is relatively new. It emerged in Asia, and for the past three years it has been extremely popular – all over the world.

The choice of eyebrow artist

Many beauty salons now offer a microblading treatment, but it’s important to choose wisely. Eyebrow microblading has a long lasting effect, so make sure the person who treats you is certified by a renowned institute. The experienced eyebrow artist at Timi is certified by PhiBrows Academy, with the level of Royal Artist – the highest level.

What about microblading 6D, 8D and 9D ?

These are marketing names but the original technique of microblading 3D was named as such for a reason: during the process, the skin is slightly pulled in three directions. It is not painful, it is just the way the artist gets maximum precision.

How does it work?

The eyebrow microblading treatment starts with designing the shape, thickness and colour of the brows. This design differs from person to person. The perfect eyebrows are based on the client’s wishes, the artist’s skill and experience and the design software if any.

Once design is done, the artist draws hair-like strokes with pigment in the upper layers of the skin. The pigment is placed with a handheld tool that has 6 to 18 microneedles. This doesn’t hurt like a regular tattoo; most people compare it to plucking eyebrows with a tweezer. The process takes about 2 to 3 hours. After about 6 weeks, a touchup is needed to ensure a perfect end result.

The result

Immediately after the first treatment, your brows will look a bit darker. The colour will fade during the healing process that takes about 2 weeks. The eyebrow artist will advise you about aftercare during this process.

After the touch up, you will see the final result that lasts for 6 months to 2 years depending on your skin type. After 2 years, the pigment leaves the skin and leaves your eyebrows exactly as they were before.

Lip Semi-permanent make-up tattooing in Vietnam

This semi-permanent treatment adds a healthy-looking blush to your lips and reveals the perfect lip shape. It will create an illusion of volume, but it won’t actually make your lips bigger, like fillers. In fact, any skilled professional will refuse to color more than 1mm outside of your natural lip line, as it will create an unnatural effect.

Like with the microblading, microshading and eyeliner treatment, the specialists will help you to pick a color that brings out your natural beauty.

Aquarelle effect

If you’re looking for a way to punch up your natural tone, without drastically changing the colour, the aquarelle shade will be perfect for you. It will give your lips a fresh and healthy look.

Lipstick effect

If you’re looking for a more intense look, the lipstick shade will be just right for you. This treatment will also look natural: others won’t see you have tattooed your lips, they will just assume you’re wearing a nice lipstick.

3D-effect

To create more depth and an even greater illusion of volume, professional makeup artists can apply the 3D technique. She creates a darker outline on the border of your lips, shades the color down towards the middle and leaves the inner part of the lip uncolored.

Discoloration of the lips

Semi-permanent lip makeup can also be used to cover irregularities in lip color, for example a darkening of the lips. This darkening is often caused by hyperpigmentation and appears mostly around the edges of the upper lip. It is caused by a variety of factors, like the tone of your skin, exposure of your lips to the sun and regular use of lip makeup.

When you have hyperpigmentation or another skin condition, the treatment requires more skill and it is therefore extremely important to carefully pick a professionally trained specialist. The makeup artists can advise you how to treat hyperpigmentation.

Tattoo

This treatment is often called a ‘lip tattoo’, but it’s different in two crucial ways. First, instead of traditional tattoo ink, powder-based pigment is used, resulting in more natural-looking colors. Also, the pigment doesn’t fade into a grey or green finish over time. Secondly, the ink is placed just under the skin, not as deep as a normal tattoo, which means the color will slowly disappear and your lips will return to their natural color.

Result

Right after the treatment, your lips will directly have a deeper color. Then, a small scab will appear and peel off. This healing layer is much thinner than with the ones that appear with older techniques, because the pigment only penetrates the upper layers of the skin.

Most of the peeling will happen in the first 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, it will be completely over in 3 to 5 days. After that, the new skin will appear and your lips will be a bit more pinkish. The definite color appears after 2 weeks and can take up to 2 months to settle.

You are welcome to come back for a touchup (included in the price) after 4 to 6 weeks. After the touchup has healed, the color will stay on your lips for 12 to 18 months. After that, your lips will return to their original color.
