Start With The Basics
Painting simpler things, like detailed settings or animals, can help you refine your new motor skills.
Using basic images to help guide your process can get you that much closer to fine detail.
These won’t require you to make it perfect, but still help you build your new skills up. As you get better, you might find that this is an effective way to move towards more detailed paintings. Continuously using these methods can help you add a little more detail every single time.

…to something more detailed:
Use My Fingers
Finger painting is a great way to have a little fun and get used to your new medium. If you’re looking to let loose and just see what you can create, doing this can help.
When you use your fingers, you know you aren’t getting perfection. This is why it is such a disarming approach to getting used to a new medium. It allows you to not worry about making something nice and instead worry about functionality.
Make Bad Art On Purpose
Go forth and make some really bad art! Better some than none at all, and no one ever has to see it. And don’t forget that something you hate and think is crap, someone else could love, so let that give you courage to share it, whatever you think it looks like.
Create Illustrations
Fantasy art
